In short: our Apps process your files locally on your device, do not require an account, do not collect telemetry, and do not upload your personal information anywhere.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Our Apps do not require an account and do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information to function. All file operations — including batch renaming and filename repair — happen entirely on your device. Your files never leave your Mac, and we never see them.

There is no in-app analytics, no usage tracking, and no remote logging in our Apps. The software is fully usable without an internet connection.

3. Local Processing Only

FileWrench processes every file locally on your computer. We do not operate any servers that receive, store, or analyze the contents or names of your files. Nothing you rename or repair is transmitted to us or to any third party.

4. Purchases and Payment Data (Paddle)

Paid licenses for our Apps are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, Paddle collects and processes your payment details (such as your name, email address, and billing information) under its own privacy policy and applicable payment-industry standards.

We receive only the minimum information needed to issue and support your license — typically your order reference and the licensed product. We never see or store your card details, and Paddle handles all payment data under PCI-compliant security standards.

5. Website Analytics

This website may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand overall traffic patterns, such as which pages are visited and from which countries visitors come. This data cannot be used to identify you personally, and we do not sell or share it with third parties.

6. Cookies

Our website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any cookies used are strictly functional and exist solely to make the site work correctly.

7. Third-Party Services

Our website and Apps contain links to third-party services, including the Mac App Store and Paddle checkout pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services and encourage you to read their respective privacy policies before providing any personal information.

Because our Apps process everything locally, there is no server-side database of your files or file names to protect or breach. On our side, we take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited information we do hold, such as license and support records.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Since our Apps do not collect personal information and Paddle manages all payment data, most requests will be handled by Paddle directly. We will assist where we can.
