  Pages that do not need perspective correction keep their original image byte-for-byte, so file size stays essentially unchanged. Pages where perspective correction is enabled are re-rendered as grayscale bitmaps. Bookmarks and outlines are preserved, and originals are never overwritten — output goes to {name}_searchable.pdf.
